Chloe Victoria Smith indicted in supreme court on ice trafficking, drug supply

The case against a regional beauty worker and mum has finally reached the supreme court more than 2.5 years after her first arrest.

A Mackay beauty worker and mum turned alleged ice trafficker has been formally indicted in the supreme court - more than 2.5 years after her first arrest - and now faces a maximum penalty of 25 years jail if convicted.

Chloe Victoria Smith is facing a raft of charges following two separate arrests in March 2020 and April 2021 over drug-related allegations in Mackay.

The 29-year-old mum is accused of being a player in an ice trafficking ring linked to the Finks Outlaw Motorcycle gang following police operation Romeo Suitcase targeting an alleged network spanning from the Gold Coast to Cairns.

She is charged with trafficking between October 25, 2019 and March 31, 2020, and supplying dangerous drugs in December 2019 and February and March 2020 in the Mackay region.

If convicted the maximum penalty for drug trafficking is 25 years imprisonment.

Ms Smith is also charged with aggravated drug possession of a schedule one drug on March 30, 2020, as well as receiving or possessing property obtained from trafficking or supplying, unlawful possession of a category D/H/R weapon, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime.

It is further alleged Ms Smith possessed a large amount of ice after police raided her home in 2021.

For that she is charged with aggravated drug possession on April 29.

The 12 count indictment was handed up in the Rockhampton Supreme Court on December 12.

Ms Smith is on bail on all charges.

The matter was adjourned to Mackay Supreme Court callover on January 31 so the statement of facts could be provided to her legal team following which a conference would be held.
