A plane has touched down safely at a regional airport after reports of engine failure sparked a response from emergency services.
Just after 1pm emergency services were alerted to a reported incident involving an aircraft as a plane came in to land at the Whitsunday Airport Shute Harbour.
A Whitsunday Airport Shute Harbour spokeswoman said the pilot’s gauges began acting up, causing the pilot to turn the plane around and bring it in for landing.
“I believe they took off and landed with all safe and sound,” a Whitsunday Airport Shute Harbour spokeswoman said.
Police, fire and ambulances attended the incident, but did not remain long after the plane landed with all passengers “safe and sound”.
