Sunshine Coast man dies in medical emergency in Chances Bay

A Sunshine Coast man has died in the Whitsundays following a medical emergency.
Emergency services rushed to the beach at Chance Bay on Whitsunday Island after the 58-year-old man experienced a ‘life-threatening medical event’ just before 6pm, October 23.

Paramedics began treating the patient, but he passed away.

Queensland police is preparing a report for the coroner.

Chance Bay connects to the world famous Whitehaven Beach via a hiking trail on the north side of the island.

Thousands of tourists flock to the beach each week.
