If you heard it through the grapevine that swamp rock singing sensation John Fogerty will be performing in the Mackay region, you would be correct.
There will be no bad moon rising when one of the founders and lead vocalist for Creedence Clearwater Revival takes to the stage at Country Fest Queensland at Bloomsbury on Easter weekend.
This will be Fogerty’s first time back in Oz in more than a decade, with his last visit in 2012, to exclusively headline at this highly anticipated country show now back for its second year.
On stage he will be joined by a sensational line up including outback icon Lee Kernaghan, Aussie country phenomenon Morgan Evans, James Johnson as well as Mackay’s very own Bella Mackenzie and Luke Geiger.
So for all Creedence fans, this will be his only show.
Fogerty will take to the stage for more than two hours performing his own songs and then as Creedence Clearwater Revival – it will be the first time since 1972 CCR fans can hear the hits from the legend himself.
The band, formed in 1967 by Fogerty who was the lead vocalist and guitarist and primary songwriter, his brother and rhythm guitarist Tom Fogerty, bassist Stu Cook and drummer Doug Clifford, and have been cited as pioneers of swamp rock and country rock.
Fogerty is a Grammy winner and has been inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Among Fogerty’s many hit songs, both as a solo artist and as leader of CCR, highlights include Centerfield, Proud Mary, Susie Q, Fortunate Son, Born on the Bayou, Bad Moon Rising, Have You Ever Seen the Rain and many more.
This incredible line up will be heading to Dittmann Bull Pit over the Easter weekend March 30-31.
