Car runs over woman in North Mackay: Man arrested

Emergency services have rushed to a Mackay home after reports a man’s car had reversed over his wife. Read the latest.

Police are responding to reports a woman has been run over by a vehicle.

It is understood her husband was driving the vehicle, and he was allegedly trying to escape a machete attack.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said crews had been called to a traffic incident along Malcomson Street in North Mackay at 11.10am.

It is understood at least three police crews as well as paramedics are attending the incident at Central Tourist Park, with one man in police custody.
