It is alleged that on June 20, 2022, they murdered 48-year-old Jamie Barlow, attempted to murder Stacey Renee Vale, and burned down Mr Barlow’s house, killing several of his pet snakes in the blaze.
Emergency services attended the property at 9.48pm, and found Mr Barlow with at least six stab wounds to his chest and torso.
Despite their efforts, he died at the scene soon after from his injuries.
Seven people were taken into custody, including a 16-year-old boy from Leichhardt.
Mr Jones was further charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, authority required to possess explosives and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime on June 21, 2022.
He is also charged with trafficking dangerous drugs between March 1 and June 20, and contravening an order about information necessary to access information stored electronically on August 12.
On October 19, 2022, the six adult accused were scheduled for committal in Ipswich Magistrates Court.
Ms Barratt, who was released on Supreme Court bail, appeared in person and requested a transfer of her legal aid.
Crown prosecutor Ashleigh Wakefield said there was a large amount of evidence still being prepared, including 16 police statements, two Queensland Ambulance statements, seven forensic statements, a pathologist report, CCTV and audio recording, stored communications between two of the defendants, bank statements and telco mapping.
Ms Wakefield said seven DNA statements were also still in progress, as there were more than 400 evidence samples being prepared for testing.
The matter was adjourned to December 14 in Ipswich Magistrates Court for a portion of the outstanding material to be received.
Ms Wakefield said the pathologist and DNA statements were expected to still be outstanding at that time.
Ms Barrett’s bail was enlarged, and her co-accused were remanded in custody.
