Ipswich police are calling for witnesses after reports of a man being stabbed in the head while getting off a bus earlier this week.

Police are investigating an alleged assault in Ipswich earlier this week, after residents reported seeing a man being stabbed at a bus stop.
A police spokesman said a man was allegedly assaulted on Aspinall Street, Leichhardt, at approximately 5.20pm on Tuesday, April 16.
A man in his 60s was transported to Ipswich General Hospital in a stable condition.
Ipswich residents flocked to social media with reports that a man had been “jumped” and “stabbed in the head” while getting off a bus on Aspinall Street.
Others reported seeing the bus stop taped off by police following the alleged incident.
“Why do we not have increased police presence in Leichhardt?,” one Facebook user commented.Police investigations into the alleged incident remain ongoing, with no one charged at this time.
Anyone who witnessed the alleged incident or has CCTV footage of the area is urged to contact police.
