Two alleged Lone Wolf bikies and third man have fronted an Ipswich court accused of kidnapping a model before torturing and abandoning her partner in Ripley bushland.
Police allege Vincent Dean Cusumano, 24, is a part of a group of Lone Wolf Motorcycle Gang members and associates who allegedly stormed the Ipswich home of Belgian model Caroll Dufailly and her partner Eduardus Groenewegen in October 2019.
Police allege the group kidnapped the couple by force and that Cusumano tortured Mr Groenewegen, administering him toxic ammonia and caused him grievous bodily harm.
Mr Groenewegen was allegedly abandoned in bushland in Ripley, while Ms Dufailly sought aid from a rural house with duct tape on her face and zip ties around her wrists.
Mr Cusumano was extradited to Queensland from New South Wales in October this year.
On December 7, 2022, in Ipswich Magistrates Court, Mr Cusumano was listed for mention, charged with a raft of offences including kidnapping, torture, robbery with actual violence, acts intended to cause GBH or transmit serious disease, administering poison with intent to harm, and deprivation of liberty.
Defence lawyer John Wilson appeared as town agent for Ashkan Tai lawyers and told the court he had collected a brief of evidence that morning.
Mr Cusumano’s matter was adjourned to February 3, 2022, and he remained remanded in custody.
Crown prosecutor Ashleigh Wakefield said his co-accused were currently listed for trial in Ipswich District Court in September, 2023.
Two of those co-accused were mentioned in Ipswich Magistrates Court on the same day: alleged bikie boss Brodie Jeet Singh, 45 of Terranora — alleged to be the National President of the Lone Wolf Motorcycle Gang — and Nathan John Miller, 37 of Carrara.
Both were mentioned for one count of calling an approved telephone number and requesting a conference call to someone else on June 13, 2020 at Borallon.
They had both previously been mentioned in the Ipswich District Court on December 6, 2022, each charged with kidnapping, torture, robbery (armed/in company/wounded/used personal violence), enter dwelling with intent by break at night (uses/threatens violence whilst armed in company), and two counts of grievous bodily harm – all serious organised crime offences.
Their Magistrates Court matters were adjourned to October 2023 in Ipswich Magistrates Court, after the conclusion of their September trial, and both men’s bail was enlarged.
Ms Cusumano’s full list of charges includes: kidnapping, torture, robbery with actual violence (armed/in company/wounded/used personal violence), acts intended to cause GBH or transmit serious disease, administering poison with intent to harm (thereby endangering the life of, or doing grievous bodily harm to, the person), deprivation of liberty (unlawfully detain/confine), enter dwelling with intent by break at night (uses/threatens violence whilst armed in company, damages property – serious organised crime), extortion with intent to gain benefit with threat of detriment (serious personal injury), face masked, blackened or disguised with intent to commit indictable offence, and personating public officers.
