Paramedics, firefighters called to Brassall house fire

Two women have been treated for burns after a fire broke out in a duplex in Brassall on Thursday afternoon.

A woman has been rushed to hospital with burns following a house fire in Ipswich’s north on Thursday afternoon.

Paramedics and firefighters were called to the scene at a duplex on Kyoto Street in Brassall just after 12pm.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the fire broke out in one of the residence’s kitchens.

One fire crew was able to put out the blaze and left the scene just before 1pm.

Paramedics treated two women who suffered burns in the fire.

A woman in her 20s was treated for burns to her hands and was taken to Ipswich General Hospital in a stable condition.

A second woman, in her 40s, was treated by paramedics for burns to her foot at the scene but did not require transport.
