Hundreds of job opportunities have been made available to Ipswich residents in recent weeks, ranging from structural engineer to support worker.

Dependent on experience and qualifications, locals could be earning up to $190,000 in one of the positions recently listed online by the region’s employers.

General manager

An Ipswich-based waste management provider is looking for the perfect person to assume the position of general manager for an estimated salary of between $120,000 and $190,000.

The Austrans Group intends to have the successful applicant develop plans, programs, and strategies for the company while imparting their expertise, solving problems, creating change, and driving service excellence.

They will need to have at least 10 years’ experience in a related field.

Structural engineers

Those with tertiary qualifications in aerospace engineering could qualify for one of the highest-paying jobs currently advertised within the Ipswich area — a structures and payloads engineer at Boeing Defence Australia.

The successful applicant will, according to seek.com.au estimates, likely earn between $90,000 and $130,000 annually.

They will be responsible for delivering capability upgrades to aircraft, collaborate with engineers to ensure products are high-quality, safe, and comply with airworthiness and Boeing requirements.

Boeing has also advertised the position of a senior structural engineer, which would pay the right person a salary estimated to be in the range of $140,000 and $180,000.

Roads and transport maintenance planning officer

A person with qualifications “acceptable for graduate membership” to the Institution of Engineers Australia will be able to apply for the high-paying position of maintenance planning officer at Ipswich City Council.

If successful, they will earn at least $110,468 annually and have responsibilities ranging from strategy implementation to providing leadership and technical advice.

They will work within the asset services team and manage road and transport infrastructure assets.

Drainage and stormwater maintenance planning officer

Ipswich City Council has advertised the position of drainage and stormwater maintenance planning officer, who will be paid remuneration of at least $100,705 as well as superannuation.

The officer will be join the council’s asset services team and will be required to manage all drainage, stormwater, and kerb and channel infrastructure assets controlled by the infrastructure and environment department.

Formal qualifications, experience, or an in-depth knowledge of the field will be required of the successful applicant.

Clinical midwife

There are currently a number of job openings within West Moreton Health’s Jaghu program; an initiative to help close the gap in health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, jarjums, and their families.

Those hired full-time will receive salaries of between $96,909 and $103,768 each for providing “woman-centred, family-oriented, evidence-based and contemporary” child health services.

They will need to be highly-experienced in delivering advanced midwifery care.

Delivery driver

Ipswich milk vendor West Milk Dairy Farmers is seeking a delivery driver with at least an MR manual licence to join its team, full-time and long-term, for between $90,000 and $109,999.

The right person will have an ABN, two Covid-19 vaccinations, and need to be able to start delivering milk, juice, yoghurt, and other company products immediately.

They will start work between 1am and 2am and continue for 10 hours six days a week, Monday to Saturday.

Boeing Defence Australia has recently listed a job opportunity for an experienced supply chain specialist to support its Loyal Wingman program, which would pay the right person an estimated $90,000 to $100,000.

Responsibilities of the specialist would include analysing data, processing documentation and materials, and co-ordinating deliveries.

They will need to have previous experience in integrated logistics support concepts and methodologies.

Australian-owned organisation Sydney Tools is looking for an experienced business development manager to join it full-time, who it will pay a salary of between $85,000 and $99,000.

The hired person will have an understanding of the trade and industrial sectors, which they will use to generate sales and grow the business within the region.

The position is full-time and comes with remuneration of between $84,854 and $88,693 as well as superannuation.

A “renowned” employer is searching for mechanical fitters to work Monday to Friday, between 7am and 3pm, for $45 per hour as well as overtime.

The job involves designing, manufacturing, and installing hydraulic systems for excavators of brands including CAT, Kitachi, and Komatsu.

The successful applicant will have a Certificate 3 in mechanical engineering, a driver’s licence, and hydraulic fitting experience.
