‘Beautiful soul’: Karalee man mourned after tragic late-night crash

A 21-year-old man has been remembered by family and friends as a fun loving, easy-going larrikin as the Ipswich community comes to grips with his loss after a car crash on Friday.

Jaydin Mcleod, 21, tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle accident at the weekend.

The victim of a fatal accident in Karalee on Friday night has been remembered as a beautiful soul who touched the hearts of many.

The family of Braydin Mcleod, 21, has been left devastated after he tragically lost his life in a single-car accident just before midnight on Friday, April 22.

Police responded to reports that a vehicle travelling along Junction Rd had left the road and crashed into a tree.

Mr Mcleod was declared dead at the scene.

His father, Karl Schmidt, confirmed his son’s death in a touching update for loved ones via Facebook on Saturday evening.

“It’s with a broken heart that I’m writing this, we lost our son tragically last night,’’ he posted.

A memorial has been set up for the victim of a fatal accident in Karalee on April 22.

“Words cannot describe how I’m feeling left alone, how his mother and father are dealing with it.

“Please hold your babies tight guys, it f--in hurts when they’re gone too soon.’’

Friends, family and residents took to social media to express their grief.

“Braydin was my best friend and I send love to all of his family,’’ one friend said.

“I truly love him with all my heart. He never failed to make my life easier. May he rest in peace.’’

Another acquaintance posted: “This beautiful soul helped my daughter when she lost control and slipped down a hill.

“Her father and I have been so grateful ever since. I’m sorry there was no one there to help him. RIP.”.

Another resident said: “So sad, he was a good kid and had many friends. I hope they all get support. Just really sad to hear this.”

A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family raise funds to celebrate his life.

“He will be remembered as the fun-loving, easy-going larrikin who loved to spend time with family and friends,’’ the GoFundMe read.

“During his short life, he touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed.’’
