A Ipswich mum has found herself on the wrong side of the law after scaling a wall at night to raid the collection bins at an op shop in Meadowbrook.
Riverview woman Alinta May Suey, 37, pleaded guilty in Beenleigh Magistrates Court to one count of trespass.
The court heard Suey scaled a wall and entered the carpark at St Vincent de Paul Society at Meadowbrook at 4am on November 14, 2020.
The mum of two, who covered her face, was there for about three hours searching through collection bins and taking clothes and other things and pushing them through the fence.
Suey’s lawyer said his client had struggled with a longstanding methamphetamine addiction and had completed a 10-week rehab program last November as she prepares to give birth to her third child.
Magistrate Louise Shephard said Suey’s fresh offences took place not long after she had been sentenced for several property-related offences in September 2020.
She was sentenced to six months probation. Convictions were recorded.
