A former golf club staffer from Greenbank caught with a “significant quantity” of meth had just cashed in on her Centrelink payment and had bought her supply of drugs for the month, a court has heard.

Natasha Marie Evans, 37, pleaded guilty in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Thursday to 11 offences, including possessing dangerous drugs and possession of a knife in a public place.

The court heard police had pulled over and intercepted a stolen vehicle Evans was a passenger in on April 2, 2021.

They conducted a search of the car and found her in possession of 3.88 grams of methamphetamine, clip seal bags and two knives.

Magistrate Louise Shephard said it had been a “significant quantity” of meth.

Evan’s lawyer told the court her client had a long battle with drug addiction.

She said Evans had just received her Centrelink payment and had bought her supply of meth for the month, which is why she had such a large amount.

The court heard Evans was previously worked in administration at local golf clubs.

She was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment with an immediate parole release date.

The 140 days she spent in pre-sentence custody was declared as time served.
