A house that caught fire in Brisbane’s riverside suburb of Hamilton is owned by the same development company as the neighbouring property that burned down on Sunday, records show.

Eight fire fighting crews were called to the home on Nudgee Rd about 2.25pm to reports it was engulfed by flames.

The house on the corner of Nudgee Road and Allen Street has been significantly inundated by fire and crews remain on scene trying to put the blaze out.

It’s the third vacant house in two days to go up in flames in Brisbane, and is next door to the house that was completely destroyed by fire on Sunday.

It’s understood police are investigating if the neighbouring fires are linked, while all three fires are being treated as suspicious.

Property records show both homes that burnt down on Nudgee Rd are owned by the same development company, Delkins Project 1 Pty Ltd

Both homes that burnt down on Nudgee Rd this week were earmarked for a large-scale development, comprised of 11 townhouses.

Publicly available records show Delkins Project 1 Pty Ltd and the Brisbane City Council have been liaising over the development since October 26, 2020, with development application documents still ongoing.

Nobody has been charged in relation to any of the fires.

Another vacant home in Cannon Hill was completely gutted on Monday.

Fire crews were called to the house in Wynnum Rd, Cannon Hill, about 5.50pm on Monday and took nearly an hour to extinguish the blaze.

A crime scene was established late on Monday night, with investigations continuing. Police said the fire was being treated as suspicious, but there was nothing to suggest a link with the Hamilton blaze.

Police are urging anyone with information or dash cam footage that could help police to contact them.
