A Southside man has been sentenced after he was busted with drugs and a stolen motorbike.
Shannon Lee Egan pleaded guilty in Gympie Magistrates Court on Monday to one count of possessing tainted property, one count of possessing dangerous drugs and one count of possessing utensils or pipes for use of dangerous drugs.
On December 5, Egan was found by police with a KTM motorcycle in his bedroom that had been reported stolen from a home on Exhibition Street, where he was also living.
The court heard somewhere between late November and December 3, Egan and a female accomplice rummaged through the victim’s drawers and took a scooter from its box and a motorcycle which was in the same room.
The Police Prosecutor told the court the pair were identified through fingerprints that had been left on the box.
Egan appeared through videolink from jail.
He received a total of 12 months in jail, suspended for two years.
The bike has been returned to its owner.
There is no suggestion that Egan stole the motorbike
