Rebekah Treveton, Daniel Wakelin charged after Gympie drug raids

Two people aged in their 30s have been remanded in custody on a total of 30 charges that include drug trafficking and supply.

Two people facing a total of 30 charges for drug-related crimes will remain in custody for the next month before returning to the Gympie Magistrates Court.

Rebekah Louisa-May Treveton, 38, and Daniel Anthony Colin Wakelin, 31, have been charged with a string of related offences following their arrests three months apart.

Ms Treveton is charged with 21 offences including trafficking, two counts of supplying dangerous drugs, five counts of possessing dangerous drugs, three counts of possessing tainted property, two counts of possessing drug utensils, and eight counts of possessing property believed to have been the proceeds of a drug crime, or used in the commission of a drug crime.

She did not apply for bail at her court appearance on Tuesday, July 2, one day after her arrest.

Mr Wakelin has been charged with nine offences including two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, receiving tainted property, possessing used utensils, possessing property suspected of being used in relation to a drug offence, possessing or acquiring restricted items, possessing items believed to be the proceeds of an offence, and possessing explosives.

He initially fronted the Gympie court on Tuesday, April 2, where he was denied bail.

The pair were arrested in the wake of investigations into an allegedly stolen Mazda BT-50.

They said these investigations led to the search of a Chatsworth property Mr Wakelin was staying at on March 31.

The search allegedly uncovered the Mazda, a quantity of drugs including methylamphetamine and marijuana, cash, ammunition, and drug utensils.

Police said Ms Treveton was at the property at the time and two weeks later, on April 18, a search warrant was executed at her Monkland home.

It is alleged dangerous drugs including methylamphetamine and marijuana, cash, drug utensils, clip seal bags, and a mobile phone were found during the search.

Ms Treveton and Mr Wakelin will each return to Gympie Magistrates Court on Friday, August 23.
