Flames engulf truck on Bruce Hwy near Maryborough

Part of the Bruce Highway was blocked overnight as fireys battled to control a blaze which engulfed a flatbed truck south of Tiaro.

Emergency crews were called to the scene about 9pm Tuesday after the southbound truck caught fire at Bauple, about 5km south of Tiaro, between the highway’s intersections with Tahiti Rd and Bauple Woolooga Rd.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the road was cut while fireys battled the blaze.

They were finally able to bring it under control about 9.40pm, and it was fully extinguished by 10pm.

Police said the fire was not suspicious. Nobody was injured in the fire.
