Man rushed to hospital following motorcycle and truck crash in Gympie

A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital following a collision with a truck on the Bruce Highway in Gympie. SEE THE VIDEO

A motorcycle rider was rushed to hospital following a crash with a truck in Gympie on Friday morning.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said two paramedic units attended the scene of the crash at the intersection of the Bruce Highway with Janet Street in Gympie around 8.28am on Friday.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said early reports were a truck hit the motorcycle from behind, but investigations are ongoing.

After treating the motorcycle rider, a man aged in his 30s, for leg injuries, the man was transported to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said one firecrew attended the scene but they were not required to extricate any of the vehicle occupants.
