Justin Ham, Colivy Pty Ltd reveal 49-lot Mothar Mountain estate

The owner of a 41ha block only a few hundred metres from the Bruce Highway Bypass has revealed new plans for the land. Here is the latest.

Eight-year-old plans to open a 40-lot subdivision at Mothar Mountain have been given a tweak with the developers asking Gympie Regional Council to let them increase the number of properties in the estate.

Developers Justin Ham and Colivy Pty Ltd want to cut their 41ha block into 49 lots, an increase of nine on the original subdivision layout approved for the site.

The land, at Noosa Rd near the intersection with O’Keefe and Sunray Roads, is about 8.5km southeast of the city and a few hundred metres east of the Bruce Highway Bypass.

Danya Cook Town Planning say in their application the increase in total lots was necessary for the development to be financially viable.

Block sizes in the subdivision will range from 4000m sq to 17,590m sq (1.7ha).

The owners of a 41ha block of land at Mother Mountain, off Noosa Rd, have unveiled plans to cut it into 49 lots.

The original subdivision plans were approved in 2014.

CoreLogic RP data records show the land has been owned by Mr Ham since 2006.

It is the latest in a growing list of subdivision plans lodged with the Gympie council, which approved the creation of 220 extra blocks in the 2021-22 financial year.

These included a 64-lot estate at Victory Heights, a controversial 38-lot subdivision at Rainbow Beach, and a 21-lot project at the Southside.

The developments’ approval have arrived as the region continues to grapple with a housing and rental crisis, which experts say is forcing long-term residents out of the region.
