Rural living continues to be a Gympie drawcard with a new 29-block subdivision proposed to be opened up about 8km north of the city.
Robert Bros Holdings has lodged an application with Gympie Regional Council to slice their 16ha Chatsworth block on Fritz Rd into the new development.
The company bought the land in May for $1.61 million.
It owns almost two dozen other properties across the state, including at Pie Creek, McIntosh Creek and Cooroy.
The block and its surrounds are zoned rural residential.
The existing house on the block will be torn down and its dam will be shared across three lots.
Block sizes will range from 4002m sq to 9125m sq, with an average size of 4994m sq.
A new road and three cul-de-sacs will be built as part of the development.
It is the latest in a string of subdivision proposals for the region including a 21-lot subdivision at Southside’s Heritage Lane, a 26-lot subdivision at Southside’s Copp Rd, and a 34-block subdivision off Glastonbury and Litschner roads at the Southside.
