A florist in the Gympie CBD has been left fuming after vandals broke and stole the store‘s shopfront signage earlier this month.
Mary St business Karinya Florist uploaded CCTV images showing the alleged perpetrator/s jumping up and snatching the sign from where it hung on its awning just before 2am on Sunday morning (June 20), before walking further up the street with it in hand.
One of the alleged perpetrators, wearing a grey hoodie, is shown making contact with the signage before walking away with it tucked under their left arm.
Another figure, shown with long hair and wearing a cap, is shown standing beside the alleged sign thief and then walking beside them as they left the scene with the sign in hand.
The florist posted a message to the alleged culprits its Facebook page last Saturday (June 26).
“Thank you to the lovely gentlemen that rung to let us know that he saw our sign up there and was worried a sign writer had lost it,” the post read.
“Sunday morning at 1:48am. Maybe you should be at home in bed instead of damaging other people's property.”
The post garnered an anger reaction from the florist’s supporters.
It was unclear whether or not the matter had yet been reported to police.
