A rider suffered injuries in what was one of the Goomeri community‘s biggest events of the year.
The Goomeri and District Show Society‘s New Year’s Eve rodeo is a popular event, drawing a large crowd and ending the evening with a fireworks display.

But one rodeo rider didn't get a comfortable start to the new year when he was thrown from a horse.
In a statement, the Queensland Ambulance Service revealed paramedics attended the rodeo after reports of a man being thrown from a horse at the Moore St event at 8.51pm.
“A male in his 20s was treated on scene for neck and hip pain and transported in a stable condition to Kingaroy Hospital,” they said.
