Glastonbury house burns to ground in overnight fire near Gympie
Firefighters have been unable to save a home, west of Gympie, after a blaze broke out in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Firefighters have been unable to save a Queensland-style timber home which burnt to the ground in an early morning blaze at Glastonbury.
Emergency crews were called to the rural home on Broadbent St, 16km west of Gympie, just after 4.30am Tuesday morning.
A QFES spokeswoman said the home was “well involved” by the time they arrived.
Police said the fire was non-suspicious.
The fire was reportedly started by a lamp on the verandah.
Four firefighting crews battled to save the home, situated at the front of the almost 5ha rural block sitting accessible by an unmaintained road about 100m back from Glastonbury Rd and not far from the Glastonbury Creek.
By 5.30am the house had collapsed to the ground.
Crews remained on the scene to control hot spots at the house, which was still smouldering hours after it had been extinguished.
Nearby sheds remained standing despite their proximity to the burning house.
Fireys left the scene just before 8.30am.
A QAS spokeswoman said paramedics had been called to the property at the same time as firefighters took the call.
All residents were accounted for when the ambulance arrived, she said, and paramedics’ services were not required.
