With Gympie in the middle of a rental squeeze and a surging property market there is no shortage of demand for new housing across the region.

Gympie Regional Council’s planning department shows 47 subdivision proposals are still awaiting approval across the region.

These include a 64-lot plan by Sunshine Coast-based developers Hillscorp in the company’s first venture into the Gympie region after 20 years of operation, and a 34-lot subdivision proposed off Glastonbury Rd.
