Two men have been taken to hospital, one by helicopter, after a fire accident near Gympie.

Two men have been taken to hospital, one by helicopter, after suffering burns in a backyard fire near Gympie.

Paramedics were called the private property at Veteran about 12.41pm.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said one of the men, aged in his 60s, suffered frontal burns and needed to be flown to the Royal Brisbane and Womens’ Hospital.

The other man, aged in his 20s, suffered “superficial” burns and was taken to Gympie Hospital.

Both were in a stable condition.
