Traffic offenders who faced Gladstone Magistrates Court

One of the latest traffic offenders to face the Gladstone court was a .197 drink driver who crashed his car and had to be taken to hospital. See the full list here.

The following people pleaded guilty recently in Gladstone Magistrates Court to traffic offending on the region’s roads.

Traffic conviction recorded

Leslie Wilson Ogden, 32

Leslie Wilson Ogden blew a reading of .197 after he crashed the car he was driving on Philip Street, Gladstone, on January 29.

Ogden pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on April 11 to drink driving.

The court heard police were called to the single vehicle crash at 1.53am on January 29 and Ogden was later taken to hospital.

Ogden was fined $1100 and disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Kerry Ann Hart, 48

Kerry Ann Hart blew a reading of .145 after she was tested by police on Cairncross Street, Gladstone, on March 24.

Hart pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on April 3 to drink driving.

With no previous offending of this sort, Hart was fined $700 and disqualified from driving for five months.

Melissa Grace Boland, 36

Melissa Grace Boland was caught driving with cannabis in her system on Dalrymple Drive, Toolooa, on February 25.

Boland pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on April 3 to drug driving.

The court heard Boland was a provisional licence holder at the time of her offending.

With previous offending of this sort on her traffic history, Boland was fined $600 and disqualified from driving for six months.

Steven Timothy Masopust, 41

Steven Timothy Masopust was caught driving with cannabis in his system on Glenlyon Street, Gladstone, on February 11.

Masopust pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on April 3 to drug driving.

The court heard Masopust was prescribed medicinal cannabis and he knew he should not have been driving on the day of his offending.

With no previous offending of this sort, Masopust was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Ellen May Beasy, 43

Ellen May Beasy blew a reading of .062 after she was intercepted by police on Boyne Island Road, Boyne Island, on January 6.

Beasy pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on April 3 to drink driving.

With one previous offence of this sort in the past five years, Beasy was fined $550 and disqualified from driving for two months.

Braiden John Lothian, 18

Braiden John Lothian was caught riding a motorbike on Coronation Drive, Tannum Sands, on March 25 when he had never held a motorbike licence.

Lothian pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on April 11 to unlicensed driving, and driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

The court heard that Lothian, who had a P-plate car licence, had been riding the motorbike in nearby bushland before he decided to ride it on the road.

When police saw him riding on the road, they noticed the bike had no registration plates.

The court heard Lothian had a “very minimal” traffic history and he was fined $800.
