Traffic offenders who faced Gladstone and Biloela courts

The latest traffic offenders to face court included a man who failed to give a breath specimen after police caught him driving with an open beer bottle in the centre console.

The following people pleaded guilty recently in Gladstone and Biloela courts to traffic offending on the region’s roads.

Gladstone Magistrates Court

Joel Graeme Herbert, 40

Joel Graeme Herbert blew a reading of .177 when police tested him at Agnes Water on December 31 last year.

Herbert pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on March 27 to drink driving.

The court heard that Herbert, who works as a supervisor in Gladstone region industry, had been driving a scooter on the night of his offending.

With no offending of this sort in the past five years, he was fined $400 and disqualified from driving for six months.

Samuel Charles Colley, 23

Samuel Charles Colley was caught driving with marijuana in his system on the Dawson Highway at Calliope on January 23.

Colley pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on March 27 to drug driving.

The court heard that Colley was a manager of a hotel at Gladstone.

With no previous offending of this sort, Colley was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Steven Emerton, 67

Steven Emerton was caught driving with methamphetamine in his system on the Bruce Highway at East End, on January 23.

Emerton pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on March 27 to drug driving.

With no similar offending in the past five years, Emerton was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Mervyn Keith Murray, 55

Mervyn Keith Murray was caught driving while SPER-suspended on Gladstone Benaraby Road on February 24.

Murray pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on March 27 to unlicensed driving.

He was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Ayesha Nedianu, 50

Ayesha Nedianu was caught driving while demerit point suspended on Philip Street in Kin Kora on January 17.

Nedianu pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on March 27 to unlicensed driving.

She was fined $200 and disqualified from driving for six months.

Bailey Keith Gilbert, 20

Bailey Keith Gilbert was caught driving while SPER-suspended on Malpas Street, Boyne Island, on March 9.

Gilbert pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on March 27 to unlicensed driving.

With previous offending of this sort on his traffic history, the apprentice chef was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for two months.

Biloela Magistrates Court

Dyllan Paul Preston, 34

Dyllan Paul Preston pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on March 22 to drinking liquor while driving and failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.

The court heard that Preston’s offending happened after police intercepted him driving on the Leichhardt Highway on December 28 last year.

The court was told that police saw an open bottle of beer in the centre console of the vehicle Preston was driving.

Preston was fined $800 and disqualified from driving for six months.

Joseph Noel Law, 38

Joseph Noel Law pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on March 22 to failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.

The court heard that Law’s offending happened after police intercepted him driving on Kariboe Street in Biloela on February 7.

With two drug driving offences on his history in the past five years, Law, currently unemployed, was fined $750 and disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Dallas Steven Robinson, 53

Dallas Steven Robinson blew a reading of .127 after police intercepted him driving at Biloela on February 20.

Robinson was later, on March 4, caught driving unlicensed on Biloela’s Kariboe Street.

Robinson pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on March 22 to drink driving and unlicensed driving.

With previous drink driving offending on his traffic history, Robinson, who is on a disability support pension, was placed on six months’ probation and disqualified from driving for two years and three months.

Kristy Lee Williams, 42

Kristy Lee Williams was caught driving with cannabis in her system on the Dawson Highway at Banana, on January 24.

Williams pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on March 22 to drug driving.

With no similar offending of this sort, Williams was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Michael Darcy Polley, 48

Michael Darcy Polley was caught driving with cannabis in his system on Callide Street, Biloela, on February 3.

Polley pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on March 22 to drug driving.

With no previous offending of this type, Polley was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for one month.

Jaryn Rae Nilon, 25

Jaryn Rae Nilon was caught driving with cannabis in his system on Bell Street, Moura, on January 11.

Nilon pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on March 22 to drug driving.

With previous offending of this sort in the past five years, Nilon, who works at Moura Tavern, was fined $350 and disqualified from driving for three months.

Stacy Therease Sharrad, 41

Stacy Therease Sharrad had both marijuana and methamphetamine in her system when she was intercepted by police on Granville Street, Biloela, on February 3.

Sharrad pleaded guilty in Biloela Magistrates Court on March 22 to drug driving.

With previous offending of this sort on her history, Sharrad was fined $450 and disqualified from driving for three months.
