Detectives from Gladstone Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged a 17-year-old boy for 21 offences after an alleged wild crime spree.
The teenager’s alleged escapades began on October 20, with police alleging he stole a Mitsubishi Lancer parked on Central Lane before later approaching an 18-year-old driver in a Suzuki Swift on Bole Street and threatening her with a crowbar.
The female teenager refused to let him into the car and the boy allegedly fled the scene in the Mitsubishi Lancer.
Police said it was located the next day at O’Malley Street in West Gladstone.
The teen is accused of crashing an allegedly stolen Toyota Camry less than two weeks later on November 2 near Dixon Drive and fleeing the scene on foot.
Police allege they found knives and drug utensils in the vehicle.
The teen was arrested in Clinton on November 3 and was hit with numerous charges, including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, attempted robbery, going armed so to cause fear, stealing, receiving tainted property, evasion offence at night, driving of a motor vehicle without a driver licence and contravention of a domestic violence order.
He appeared in Gladstone Children’s Court on November 4.
