A mother who caused train services at a Central Queensland railway station to be shut down, has faced court.
Samantha Krystal Leigh Debrincat, 35, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court to one count of not to go onto a railway track.
The court heard that about 1.10pm on July 9, Debrincat attended Gladstone Railway Station where she went onto railway tracks and walked in front of a train.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Merrilyn Hoskins said this caused the train services to be “ceased for a period of time.”
“(She) wasn’t authorised to be on the tracks,” Sgt Hoskins said.
The prosecutor said about 10 minutes later, police found Debrincat in a rail corridor.
Sgt Hoskins said when Debrincat was questioned by police about being on the railway tracks, she told them she “does it all the time.”
Debrincat had a three-page criminal history which included drug offending.
Solicitor Rio Ramos said Debrincat was a single mother of four who received a disability support pension.
“She’s lived in Gladstone for over a year now - she used to reside in Rockhampton,” Ms Ramos said.
The solicitor said Debrincat did not have any reason for walking on the train tracks.
“She was going for a walk,” Ms Ramos said.
Magistrate Mary Buchanan fined Debrincat $650 and a conviction was recorded.
