Police are appealing for witness after the driver of an alleged stolen Toyota HiLux crashed into a caravan on the Bruce Highway in the Gladstone region and fled the scene.

According to police, a grey Mazda Bt-50 towing an Austrack Tanami caravan was travelling south along the Bruce Highway at East End about 9.15am on June 3 when it swerved to avoid an oncoming alleged stolen black Toyota HiLux just before the intersection near Mount Alma Rd.

The driver of the alleged stolen vehicle collided with the caravan.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the vehicle was found abandoned about 1km north of the scene.

The driver left the scene prior to the arrival of emergency services.

The QPS spokeswoman said the vehicle was allegedly stolen from Innes Park in the Bundaberg region on May 21.

The driver of the Mazda, a 52-year-old Carseldine man, and the passenger, a 52-year-old Carseldine woman, were not injured.

Investigations are continuing.

Police are appealing to witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage who was in the area between 8am and 10am on July 3, to come forward.
