The court heard Butler was driving a black Holden Commodore with no registration plates on Whitbread Road, Clinton, on June 9, about 4.30pm.

He performed burnouts throughout the afternoon and was described by neighbouring residents to be driving dangerously.

Butler was intercepted about 5.20pm by police at Dan Murphy’s and subject to a licence check and roadside breath test.

After being detained for further questioning, Butler made full admissions to conducting burnouts earlier that afternoon.

He also stated he consumed four pre-mixed whiskey cans and two heavy beers that day, telling police he had never held a Queensland driver‘s licence.

Butler had a blood-alcohol content reading of .044 per cent and he was issued a notice to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court.

Acting Magistrate Paul Byrne fined Butler $1450 and disqualified him from driving for six months. Traffic convictions were recorded.
