A woman told police the crystal methamphetamine they found in her car was regular stones that she sold.
Joanne Lee Ware, 42, pleaded guilty n the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Friday to dangerous drug possession.
On April 30, 2020, around 6.50pm, Ware was in her car with two other people at the intersection of Tablelands and Fingerboard roads, Mount Tom.
Police attended their location and after a conversation with Ware, her car was searched on suspicion of dangerous drugs
Ware told police she had nothing to declare, however, under the passenger seat they located a box which contained crystal material, scales and a homemade pipe.
She told police the crystal material were stones of some description and that she sold them.
Police seized the material and forensic examination revealed the crystals were methamphetamine that weighed 2.3 grams.
On June 21, Ware participated in an interview with Gladstone police where she said at the time of the incident she was using drugs regularly and things were spiralling out of control.
She further stated that on the afternoon in question she picked up her ex-partner in Gladstone and proceeded to drive with him to the location to meet her friend.
Magistrate Bevan Manthey convicted and sentenced Ware to 12 months imprisonment with an immediate parole release date. A conviction was recorded.
