Police are continuing to investigate the death of a young Gladstone woman, who died on the side of the Bruce Hwy after being found 80m from the ute she was travelling in with her partner.
Courtney Paige Anderson, 28, from New Auckland suffered “catastrophic injuries” in the incident at Bajool, south of Rockhampton, on Easter Monday, April 1.
Ms Anderson, from New Auckland, was travelling with her 35-year-old male partner to Rockhampton when the incident happened about 5.15pm near the intersection at Sisalana Rd.
Witnesses stopped and rendered first aid, with a Rockhampton woman the first to call triple-0.
Sadly, Ms Anderson died at the scene.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said this week that investigations were ongoing.
Investigators had released pictures of the gold Toyota Hilux in which they were travelling and appealed to anyone who may have seen the vehicle anywhere between Gladstone and Bajool on April 1 to come forward.
Shortly following Ms Anderson’s death, her dad Don had posted an image of his daughter on social media.
After changing his Facebook cover photo in honour of his daughter, Mr Anderson’s page was flooded with tributes for Ms Anderson who was described as a “beautiful girl” with a “beautiful soul”.
