A Central Queensland man has faced court for assaulting his sister after she let him reside at her place because he had nowhere else to go.
Hayden Jon Vock, 30, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court to charges including common assault and wilful damage (both domestic violence offences).
The court heard the victim in this matter was Vock’s sister.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Merrilyn Hoskins said on October 26, Vock’s sister contacted police and said Vock had assaulted her and put a hole in the wall at her house.
Sgt Hoskins said Vock had been staying at his sister’s place - she allowed him to because he “had nowhere else to go.”
“After she asked him to leave after an argument, he grabbed her by her clothes and shoved her into a wall,” Sgt Hoskins said.
“She said on his way out, he punched a hole in the wall and left.”
Vock had a two-page criminal history which included a previous common assault offence as well as drug offending.
Solicitor Rio Ramos said Vock was on a disability support pension and he suffered from ADHD and depression.
Ms Ramos said Vock was now living with his parents and he was trying to get into rehabilitation.
Magistrate Mary Buchanan fined Vock $1000 and convictions were recorded.
