Family pay tribute to Raymond ‘Buster’ Whitmore following Burua, Gladstone motorbike accident

The 55-year-old motorcyclist who tragically lost his life after a crash near a Dawson Highway exit on Friday evening can be revealed as Raymond Whitmore from Calliope.
The devoted dad was driving from Gladstone to his Calliope home when the accident occurred just after midnight on June 22, his former wife has revealed in a heartfelt post on social media.
Laurie Mills publicly posted about the tragedy that had taken her former husband and the father of her children on Facebook.
“A lady witnessed what happened and gave assistance until the ambulance arrived within 5 minutes but CPR could not resuscitate him,” she said.
“I hope Raymond is now experiencing the longed for peace he deserves. God bless.”
Originally from Dalby and known to some as ‘Buster’, family, bikes, camping, boats and cars were close to the former Dalby State High School student’s heart.
One of his most treasured trips was not on land, but on sea when he took his children on a cruise.
His heartbroken niece Jade Barnham also posted publicly following his passing.
“Well u can put down your tools mate rest in peace uncle Ray u will be missed by many fly high mate,” she wrote.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the accident at Jim Whyte Way exit at Burua.
