A man endangered the lives of other road users by drink driving without headlights on in West Gladstone.

Charles William Sturt, 25, pleaded guilty to drink driving in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday.

On July 28, around 7.35pm, Sturt was intercepted by police driving a white sedan without headlights on Wenitong Street, West Gladstone.

Following a conversation with police, Sturt submitted to a breath test which returned a positive result.

After being taken to Gladstone police station for further testing, Sturt’s second breath test returned a positive reading of .104.

Sturt, a labourer, admitted to drinking four beers earlier that evening and had no emergency reason for driving.

He was issued a notice to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court and a 24-hour licence suspension.

Magistrate Bevan Manthey convicted and fined Sturt $600 and suspended him from driving for three months.
