Former meth trafficker Belinda Jayne Pollock was on parole but that did not stop her targeting numerous Gladstone businesses in a brazen stealing spree.
First, she went into Chemist Warehouse at Clinton and put two bottles of perfume worth $60 in her bag and left without paying.
Then a couple of weeks later, she went to Supercheap Auto Gladstone and used the same method to steal a power pack valued at $799.
A couple of months later, she attended Spotlight Gladstone and stole $614 worth of items from the store.
A month after that, Pollock and a co-offender went to Aldi Gladstone and stole a trolley full of items worth $984.89.
Four days later, Pollock, again with a co-offender, went to the store and used a trolley to steal $1096.99 worth of goods.
Pollock, 41, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on March 6 to five counts of stealing.
The court heard that Pollock had a seven-page criminal history which included previous dishonesty offences including fraud as well as drug offending.
It was told Pollock had previously been sentenced in the Supreme Court at Rockhampton in 2021 for drug trafficking.
Solicitor Cam Schroder said Pollock would consent to a community service order and he did not make any further submissions.
Prior to sentencing, Magistrate Mary Buchanan noted that Pollock had “a lengthy” history of dishonesty offending and at the time of committing these offences, she was on parole.
Ms Buchanan ordered Pollock do 60 hours of unpaid community service and she also made an order for restitution to be paid.
Convictions were recorded.
