Man charged for 55 cannabis plants at Derby St, South Gladstone

Under the cover of darkness police can be seen descending on a Central Queensland backyard by torchlight in freshly released footage.
The body-worn camera vision was released after a Gladstone man was charged following the alleged discovery of 55 cannabis plants at the property.
Police made an early morning visit on October 9 at 4.40am to an address on Derby St, South Gladstone to make inquiries.
They will allege that while there, officers observed cannabis plant in the garden on further searches allegedly revealed 55 cannabis plants in total.
In the footage, officers can be seen searching the garden with torches.
Marijuana plants can also be seen between other plants.
At one point, a police officer says, “it’s producing, is what it is”.
The man, whose face is blurred, is standing in yard in high-vis clothing watching them with his arms crossed.
The end of the video, which moves into daylight, shows the officers pulling the marijuana plants out of the pots, counting them and putting them into brown evidence bags.
A 40-year-old South Gladstone man has been charged with one count of producing dangerous drugs.
He is scheduled to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court on November 7.
