Kevin Douglas Anderson charged for alleged Barney Point stabbing, victim released from hospital

A Gladstone man has faced court on charges of attempted murder following a stabbing in Barney Point on August 3, with the alleged victim released from hospital. DETAILS, UPDATES.

Kevin Douglas Anderson, 30, has faced court after being charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Barney Point on August 3.

At 11:40pm on August 3, police were called to a Brisbane Street address where a 30-year-old Barney Point man was found with multiple stabs wounds and cuts.

The man was transported to Gladstone Hospital in a critical condition before being flown to Brisbane, and has since been released.

Mr Anderson, 30, faced Gladstone Magistrates Court on Thursday August 9, charged with attempted murder. 

His matter was adjourned, with Anderson to be remanded in custody until his second court date on October 3.

It is believed that Anderson and the victim were known to each other.

A spokesman for the Gladstone Criminal Investigation Branch said that further investigations into the incident were continuing.
