Rossco’s Pizza, a popular Central Queensland family-owned pizza store, is expanding, with a Gladstone store on track to open its doors next week and construction for Rockhampton’s second store underway.

The business first started in Yeppoon more than 10 years ago and has since expanded into Rockhampton, which, allowing the owners to develop a loyal customer base.

Rossco’s Pizza founder, Ross Lane, said each store shared the same message when it came to the way they prepared food.

“Quality in, quality out,” Mr Lane said

“We cut and prepare all of our vegetables in-store; we make all of our own dough and sauce.

“We know that there’s an option to get cheaper ingredients, but using the best fresh ingredients produces the best product.”

Mr Lane said while there was some nervous anticipation about moving so much further south than his other stores, feedback from Gladstone residents left him feeling hopeful.

“There’s a lot of people who live in Gladstone who have already tried our pizzas, which makes me hopeful that people will support us,” he said.

Construction is underway for a second Rockhampton store, with the current shop unable to manage the high demand.

The second Rockhampton store will be located in the IGA complex on Dean Street and is expected to open in late September.

In addition to bringing the CQ-famous pizzas to Gladstone, the store will also support up to 25 local jobs, many of which will be junior positions.

“We’ve got a number of staff already, but we’ve still got positions available; especially junior positions.”

The store is located in the Gladstone Valley Shopping Centre at 189 Goondoon Street, and will be open for takeaway and delivery for lunch and dinner, seven days a week.
