The Fraser Coast Agriculture Show is underway for 2021.
Already, thousands have passed through the gates of the Maryborough Showgrounds as eager crowds make-up for last year’s missed show.
From cattle and poultry to show bags, rides and dagwood dogs, this years show had all the staples and more.
For Shane and Helen Dudley from Maryborough, the show was quieter this year (spots were limited due to COVID-19 registration) but still an opportunity for a great day out.
Mrs Dudley said she liked seeing the animal displays and trying out different food venues that people didn’t normally see everyday.
Similarly, for Kim Crillesen and Sammantha Brodie from Gladstone, the show atmosphere made for a great day out.
Ms Brodie noted the cattle displays as a highlight of her show this year and Mr Crillesen simply said he enjoyed the festive atmosphere the event brought to the Fraser Coast.
For Fraser Coast Ag Show Society President Melinda Wright, the two day event was the result of hard working people and volunteers and it was amazing to finally open the show.
“It’s been crazy, it’s quite difficult but your supported by the team around you, I’m very appreciative” she said.
“The turn out is looking great, we’ve got some wonderful feedback and everywhere I look everyone is smiling, or eating and or going on rides.
Ms Wright said the show runs until the end of Friday May 21 and there was still time to come down and enjoy the day everything the show has to offer.
More to come.
