The Fraser Coast Agriculture Show has returned a year after it had to be cancelled due to COVID-19.

After last year’s Fraser Coast Agriculture Show had to be cancelled in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the region is ramping up for this year’s fun-filled event.

From the thrills and entertainment of sideshow alley to the range of stalls and displays, there will be something for everyone at the show at Maryborough Showgrounds on Thursday and Friday.

Here are the wide range of displays and competitions that will be held over those two days:

Horses

A range of competitions will be held over the two days, with a champion junior rider, juvenile rider and adult rider to be named after a range of events.

The most talented riders in the region will be showcased over the two days of challenges and classes.

Showjumping will be one of most popular attractions during the two days, with competition to start from 8am on Thursday and Friday.

The show will also include a miniature horse and pony competition.

Stud cattle

Stud cattle will go on display on both days of the show.

Different breeds will be on show, with the best of the best to be awarded.

Champions will be named across a range of categories, including junior champion bull, senior champion bull and grand champion bull.

Budgerigars 

Budgerigars are set to go on display at the show, with champions to be named across a range of categories.

Australian Native Parrots

The Hervey Bay Bird Club will display Australian native birds and exotic birds over the two days.

Poultry 

Always a popular part of the show, poultry from across the region will go on display, with a Grand Champion Fowl to be named.

Chainsaw – woodchop – woodcraft

A range of displays including chainsaws, woodchop and woodcraft will be included in this year’s show.

Chainsaw racing will be held at 5pm on Thursday.

Woodcraft displays will be on show throughout the two days, with winners to be named across several categories.

Fruit and vegetables

A display will be held over two days.

Cake decoration

A display will be held over the two days, with prizes to be awarded over a number of classes.

Pottery and photography

There will be displays for pottery and photography over the two days, with awards to be handed out to best in show.

Schoolwork 

The schoolwork of children across the region will be put on display at the show.

Tickets to the show will cost $16 for adults, $40 for families (two adults and up to four children) $22 for a family with one adult and two children, $11 for students or concessions, $6 for a child between 5 and 14, with children under 5 able to enter for free.

A two day pass will cost $31 for adults, $75 for families, $40 for a single family, $21 for a student and concessions and $9 for a child aged between 5 and 14.
