Tributes after death of Maryborough business, rugby stalwart Tony Putnam
The Fraser Coast is mourning a beloved businessman and community stalwart who died suddenly earlier this month.

Maryborough is mourning a beloved businessman and community stalwart who died suddenly earlier this month.
Tony Putman, from Tony Putman Concreting, died on May 13, leaving behind his wife Leah and two sons, Jake and Lincoln.
It is understood he died after a medical episode.
In the wake of his death, the community has paid tribute to the beloved husband and father, who was remembered as being one of a kind by the community groups and clubs he assisted.
“The Maryborough BMX Club would like to extend its deepest condolences to the Putman family on the tragic loss of Tony Putman of Tony Putman Concreting,” a post on the club’s page read.
“Tony was well known within the Maryborough community and played a vital role in getting the Maryborough BMX Club’s track to where is it today, for which we cannot thank him enough.
“He and his team undertook many projects around the track such as concreting the berms, concreting the staging area and the pathways from and around the rego hut and staging.
“Our thoughts go out to the family during this difficult time.”
Maryborough Brothers Junior Rugby League Club also paid tribute to Mr Putman, who was a life member of the club.
“Maryborough Brothers Rugby League Club extends our deepest sympathies to Leah, Jake, Lincoln, and the entire family during this incredibly difficult time.

“Tony was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by so many.
“Over the years, he wore many hats — coach, league safe, vice president, president, life member, mentor, and who could forget his time as the ‘Super Coach’ for the Under 8s.
“His unwavering dedication to the players and to the club was nothing short of remarkable.
“No task was ever too big or too small, and our club is better for all that he gave.
“His legacy will live on in the lives he touched and the spirit he helped build within our community.”
The Wallaroos Junior Rugby League Club also offered its condolences.
“We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Tony,” the post read.
“Tony was a cherished and well-known figure within the rugby league community, especially through his active and passionate involvement as a committee member of The Brothers Rugby League Football Club.
“His dedication and enthusiasm for the club and the community were truly remarkable.
“Tony’s presence and contributions of being a lifelong member will be sorely missed by all who knew him and worked with him.
“Wallaroo JRLC extends our heartfelt condolences to Tony’s family, friends, and everyone at The Brothers JRLC during this difficult time.
“Please know that our thoughts are with you all as you navigate this profound loss.”
