A massive development featuring a childcare centre, retail shops, and more than 200 townhouses and units is proposed for the Fraser Coast.
The developer is eyeing off 18 Doolong South Rd, Wonduna, and the land at 15, 23 and 31 Gilston Road for the big project.
According to CoreLogic data, the developer paid $1.45m for all four lots.
Council gives green light to 57ha fertiliser plant development
A development application before Fraser Coast Regional Council reveals the project will include 209 residential townhouses and units, food and drink outlets, health care services, a childcare centre and community centre.
The applicant is BuildX Hervey Bay Pty Ltd and the project will be completed with Adapt Town Planning.

According to the application, the development will be sectioned into five lots.
The first lot, which is just under 8000sq m in size, will have two double-storey buildings with retail shops on the ground floor.
A medical centre is proposed for the first floor and 151 car parking spaces will be included to the east and west of the buildings.
The second lot will include an office with five car parks, while lot three will have a food and drink outlet with another five car parking spaces.
A childcare centre with 28 car parks is proposed for lot four.
The last 68,753sq m lot will include a community centre featuring a dining hall and administration area.
Numerous communal spaces are proposed for the massive project, including a pool, spa, tennis court, lawn bowls green and cafe.
In terms of housing, the application reveals the development will include 16 units, which will be grouped into two locations.
Eight “duplex style” units are proposed for each location, which will be built near the childcare centre and food and drink outlets.
The remaining 193 townhouses will also be grouped into two areas.
One area will have 44 townhouses, and the remaining 149 townhouses will be grouped together in the southern part of the land that fronts Gilston Rd.
Each townhouse will have a double lock-up garage, with 58 visitor car parks also available at the site.
The units will also have a single or double lockup garage, along with eight visitor car parks.
According to the development application, the proposal predominantly caters to over 50s with “support facilities involving care” while other areas in the development are not targeted at a specific age group.
The application was received by the Fraser Coast Regional Council on September 29, 2022, and is subject to approval.
