Six flashy new cabins are proposed for a popular campsite and tourist park on Fraser Island.
Cathedrals on Fraser, which has been operating for more than 30 years, has revealed plans to add more cabins to their campground.
Managers Jack and Michelle Worcester said each new cabin would feature two bedrooms, ensuite and kitchenette and could sleep up to six people.

Situated on a quiet part of the property, looking out onto the picturesque bushland, the cabins will provide privacy for visitors during their stay.
Being 89 sqm in size with a veranda, they are also quite spacious.

A development application before Fraser Coast Regional Council said the proposed cabins would be connected to the existing power, water and septic infrastructure.
“The cabins will not increase the park’s patron capacity as such, but rather, provide an alternative form of accommodation for existing patrons,” the application said.
The campsite currently has eight cabins, which Mr Worcester said were usually booked out during busy periods.
The tourist park is currently booked from mid-December to almost the end of January 2023.
The permanent tents at the campground also typically booked a year in advance for holiday season.
Mr Worcester, who has run the facility for six years, said holidays were always their busiest periods.
“I think they like the security of the dingo fence, the location is also very favourable,” he said.
According to the development application, Gympie-based Asset Cabins and Homes would build the cabins.
Cathedrals on Fraser also expects to put on extra staff for the installation of the proposed cabins which will be available around July and August 2023.
The new cabins are subject to approval by the Fraser Coast Regional Council.
