Winter is not over yet, with the Wide Bay shivering through a chilly morning on Wednesday after a cold snap hit the state.
In Maryborough and Hervey Bay, temperatures fell to a low of 3.8 and 4.2 respectively, while Gympie fell to 4.6 degrees and Bundaberg to 6.8.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Helen Reid said the cold snap was set to last for a number of days.
She said after a “fairly significant” trough moved through south east Queensland, bringing rain with it, it had also brought in a completely different mass of air, leading to cool, dry and windy conditions.
High temperatures are set to hover between 23-25 degrees in the Wide Bay this week, while Gympie will drop to a low of 3 degrees on Friday.
Bundaberg will drop to a low of 8, but temperatures are expected to rise on the weekend.
“Winter has not gone yet,” Ms Reid said.
“I think everyone had hoped it was all gone.”
