Teens allegedly use replica gun in armed robbery at Maryborough

A man was allegedly robbed of his e-scooter and other personal items by two teens during an armed holdup in Maryborough.

The incident happened about 4.40pm on January 20 near Tiger St and Kent St, when a man was allegedly threatened by two people with a firearm.

The two then allegedly took the man’s e-scooter and other personal items before fleeing the area in a vehicle.

Following investigations, Maryborough detectives arrested two people later that morning, a 19-year-old Urangan man and a 17-year-old boy from Scarness, who have both since been charged with armed robbery.

A replica firearm, believed to be that used in the offence, was also located and seized.

They were due to face Hervey Bay Magistrates Court and Hervey Bay Childrens Court earlier this week.
