Police investigate discovery of body in Hervey Bay home
More details have emerged after a man died in what’s believed to have been a freak accident in a quiet residential suburb of the Fraser Coast.

A man has died in what is believed to be a freak accident involving a car at a home at Point Vernon on the Fraser Coast.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Tuesday morning.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said one crew arrived at the home at 11:30am.
Police were called at 11.11am, a Queensland Police Service spokesperson said.
Detective Senior Constable Morris Cottrell spoke with The Fraser Coast Chronicle at the scene.
“Police investigations are in relation to a male person who died in a tragic accident in Point Vernon,” Senior Constable Cottrell said.
The Chronicle understands the accident involved a car but that it is not being treated as a car crash.
Snr Const Cottrell said police investigations were ongoing and the next of kin were yet to be contacted.
On Tuesday night police issued a statement following the discovery of the man’s body.
“Police attended a property in Point Vernon on Tuesday July 5 where a man was located deceased following an incident involving a vehicle, it’s believed he died some time in the week prior,” a police spokeswoman said.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
“There is there no further information available at this time.”
