Man rushed to hospital after late night park stabbing at Torquay

Police are continuing to investigate after two men were taken to hospital, one with a stab wound to his stomach, after an “altercation” at a Fraser Coast park.

A police investigation continues after a man was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition after an alleged stabbing at Torquay overnight.

The incident happened about 12.30am on Sunday, with the man suffering an abdominal wound.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said an investigation continued into the incident.

Earlier, another police spokeswoman said the incident happened on the Hervey Bay Esplanade near Bill Fraser Park.

Two men were approached by another man and there was an altercation, she said.

One man sustained a wound to his abdomen.

Both were taken to hospital, one with a stab wound and the other with minor injuries, she said.

No complaint about the incident has been made to police, she said.

It comes after a 19-year-old was stabbed further north at Limestone Creek, near Rockhampton over the weekend. 

The victim, who had suffered wounds to his leg, knocked on doors for help on Friday night and was taken to Rockhampton hospital in a stable condition.

He also made no complaint to police.
