Layton Kane Deserio
A man busted twice for drug driving within the last five years has faced court.
Layton Kane Deserio pleaded guilty to drug driving when he faced Maryborough Magistrates Court on Monday, May 19.
Police prosecutor Sonia Edwards said on April 6 on Gympie Rd in Tinana, Deserio was stopped by police.
He admitted to recent drug use, Sgt Edwards said.
Meth was later detected from a sample of his saliva.
It was his second matter within the last five years, Sgt Edwards said.
Duty lawyer Warren Hunter said Deserio had a partner and a daughter.
He owned a home at Tiaro, which was a fair distance from Maryborough for medical needs and shopping, Mr Hunter said.
He said Deserio was currently receiving unemployment benefits.
Magistrate John Milburn said Deserio did have a similar matter on his history and he needed to that into account.
“You had a drug in your system – I urge you to review your lifestyle options in that regard,” he said.
